A - Adoration

Adoration: Encouraging a corporate and individual lifestyle of worshiping God.

The whole of creation speaks of God's goodness. He has done for us more than we can understand and is preparing for us a place in heaven. He is extraordinary and holy. We praise him because of who he is and what he has done. We praise him because it is what we are built to do. We do it together because we are instructed in the Bible to "sing to one another spiritual songs and psalms." We thank God that New Testament worship is an intimate experience of the goodness of God as, through the presence of the Holy Spirit, we align our minds, emotions, spirits and bodies as one to say "God is good". We are so grateful that this is defined often in the Bible as "drawing towards God with a kiss."

We remember that in a fog of confusion we can return to Jesus’ simple instruction to "seek first the kingdom of God, and all other things will be given to you." Our worship is therefore our first calling and primary purpose in life. We exist to glorify him. We do not glorify him so we can get more out of life, it is our life.

Together we seek for ways to glorify God through our study of scripture, in our engagement and in our relationships. When there are people here at the Bear who are so down that they are struggling to worship then we stand around them and fill their ears with worship to encourage them.
