I’ve never really ‘done’ lent before (nor blogs). I don’t ‘do’ will power or self-denial (or writing). I do instant gratification. But this year I’m all up for discovering the beauty of denial, of sacrifice, of discipline, of self-control (the bible tells me it’s a fruit of the spirit) and making space for Jesus, allowing room in my life for Jesus to do something new. You can count me in, even on denial, if there is the prospect of something new. So this year I am fully embracing Lent. In the following order I will … give up my take away lattes, say a little prayer when I don’t have the caffeine that hits the comfort spot and collect the money I save and pop it in a jam jar for our Youth’s mission to Uganda this summer.
