Sunday Mornings

10.30am service

This all age-service worship, teaching and prayer. Children and young people join us for the first half of the service and then go into their own groups for the second half. After the service we hang out around the bar, drink coffee and eat cake. The services are led by lots of different people in the Bear so every Sunday is different. They are led from the front but we encourage everyone to participate. The services finish around midday but once a month we bring our lunch and eat together. Everyone is welcome.

Children and Young People

Children of all ages (we have quite a lot of them) are involved in the life of The Bear.

During our morning service we run a program for various different age groups

  • Glow worms 0 - 2
  • Fireflies 3 - 4
  • Electric eels 5 - 7
  • Flame Fish 8 - 11
  • Youth 12 - 15

Our youth meet at different times as well, the best way to find out about that is to come along to one of our services

Sunday Evenings

7.15pm Church on the Street

Church on the Street is the evening service at the Bear, beginning at 7:15pm. Hot and cold food is provided for local people who may not get a meal otherwise. From 7:45 pm there is a more intimate time of worship, testimonies and teaching. Be prepared to introduce yourself, say how your week has been and share communion amongst the diverse community that can be found on the streets of Deptford. Stay afterwards for more refreshments, conversation and prayer. The service ends at 9.15pm.

To see when we need volunteers, view the rota here and emailinfo@alice-marwick.co.uk to add your name.
