Sunday Morning – Money March rolls on. After a look at economics and the Bible we all need a sit down, right? So pull up a chair near to the Sofa, where we’ll be hearing testimonies and wisdom from carefully selected individuals at the Bear. 10 am for prayer in the foyer and 10.30am for service start.
Fish is Off – sorry folks but Flame Fish is CANCELLED this Sunday. Sadly due to staff shortages we cannot run a group for children in School Years 3-6. It’s a Sofa Sunday and the children are welcome to stay in. Bring extra books, colouring, screens, sugar and something for the kids as well!
The Evening Service – Each week we welcome to the Bear those who are coping with homelessness, addictions and extremely difficult life situations. We need help cooking and setting up from 4.30pm or serving/washing up from 6pm. Everyone over 16 yrs is welcome to come and help. Global – Tuesday 28 March at 8pm. An internationally focused group, that meets once a month. At the Bear we have two families working in Central Asia, Ruth who is in Egypt and soon to be Wendy P off to Cambodia. Women’s Prayer Lunch – Prayer lunch this week is at Annalisa’s home in Brockley. Wednesday 22 March 1pm. Like most social events at the Bear this involves food, chat and even prayer. NXDFFF – the next Free Film Festival starts in April (www.freefilmfestivals.org) and The Bear will be showing Kung Fu Panda on Saturday 21st and Spotlight on Tuesday 25th. This is a great opportunity to open our doors, meet our neighbours and share our vision. BEAR MENS WEEKEND - 30 June - 2 July in Norfolk. Get away from London with other men/youth from the Bear, sail blithely on the River Thurne, (land activities available), eat copious amounts of meat (unless you’re vegetarian), make new bromances (or not) and generally chill out. £60 for the weekend. Women’s Weekend Away – OK ladies, having visited the Oast Houses Retreat Centre last week we can officially tell you that it’s the place to be! If you want to join us 6-8 October for a wonderful weekend away now really is the time to book.
