Sunday Morning Service - at the Ascension. 11.15am for prayer, 11.45 for tea and coffee, 12pm for worship service. 

Sunday Evening Service - at Evelyn from 6pm.

Parenting course - starts on Tuesday, more details below

Early Morning Prayer - open to all, just switch on and join in Monday to Friday on Zoom from 7-7.30am

COMING UP

Parenting course - Bear Cubs are hosting a new parenting course, 'Circle of Security', starting 10am Tuesday 6th May for eight weeks. Each session is 1.5hrs and the course is free with a free creche, with an optional donation of £10 for the workbook. The course takes place at Deptford Family Hub on Alverton Street SE8. If you're interested in signing up contact bearcubs@thebear.tv.

Baptisms at The Bear - a bold and beautiful public declaration of faith, baptisms are a joyous and special part of a person's faith journey. A few people have stepped forward wanting to get baptised so the 29th June has been pencilled for a baptism service! If are interested in getting baptised or just want to know more, get in touch with Bex.

The Big Lunch - Save-the-Date for this year's Big Lunch, a long table meal in Giffin Square for the 8th June. More details t come.

EYWDHS - On 29th May, 7pm we'll be eating at Chai Wrap. Plant-based Indian street food. Bollywood music and decor. BYOB and cash only or bank transfer. Seating is limited so book with bex@thebear.tv to get a seat.

Volunteer befrienders/mentors needed for Bear House - Can you give a couple of hours twice a month to support and empower residents who have asked to be linked with a volunteer? Training and support given. Contact iain@thebear.tv for more information.

Motherhood vs The Machine - Chine has released a podcast 'Motherhood vs The Machine' that explores all things motherhood and technology. Please take a listen wherever you get your podcasts, with special shout out to episode one that includes interviews from our very own Bear Cubs parents!

Churches Together South London (CTSL) Big Gathering - specially aimed at those working in church communities with young people, CTSL are hosting an evening of talks and a buffet to encourage and inspire. Guest speakers include Kamelia Johnson (The Hebe Foundation) and Matt Hooks (XLP). Event takes place at Trinity House, Chapel Court SE1 1HW on Wednesday 14th May, 7-8:30pm, with buffet served from 6pm.

Springs Summer Dance Week 2025 - a refreshing week of dance and community as we experience God's goodness through moving, creating and reflecting together. Suitable for anyone aged 16+ (14+ if accompanied by an adult). It takes place at City Church Cambridge, 12-14 Cheddars Lane, Cambridge CB5 8LD from Monday 28th July - Friday 1st August.

Lost & Found Trainee job - an opportunity to take part in the heritage project "Lost & Found: Untold maritime histories of Greenwich and Deptford revealed through a mudlark's finds." There are 8 trainee positions available and you will be paid London Living Wage for a total of 17 days over a 7-week period this summer. You will work with Thames mudlark Nicola White, using her finds to discover, interpret and share maritime histories of Greenwich and Deptford. More information attached.
