Isaiah 56: 6-7

IN OUR COMMUNTIY
THE EVENING SERVICE
Each week at our evening service, a meal is prepared for vulnerable adults in and around Deptford. This is followed by an optional “circle time” consisting of a talk, worship and prayer. It runs 3 Sundays a month on volunteer efforts. The team (Richard, Sally, Mel, Maureen, Asha & Mike) want to expand the volunteer base in order to run the Evening Service more sustainably, and allow Richard to focus on supporting those that attend.
Would you consider volunteering monthly or termly? The sign up sheet is here.
It helps if people sign up in advance so they know whether they can safely run the Evening Service that week. If you’re volunteering for the first time, or after a long time, let one of the team know so we can help explain things or answer any questions.

CLASSIFIEDS
Job listing : Power the Fight is a small but dynamic Christian charity based in South East London dedicated to supporting young people affected by violence, and their families. We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong financial management skills and a passion for our cause to help us efficiently manage our finances and make a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most. Please see JD attached or speak to Tracey at church for more information.
Hosting request : Hi, I'm Becky. I've just finished my A levels and am looking to move into London for a change of scenery and to try professional wrestling as a hobby. I'm looking for a place to stay for a couple of months or so - just a bedroom and a shared kitchen and bathroom would be all that I need. Woolwich or Greenwich would be a good location but anywhere nearby would also be fine for me. If you think you could help, speak with Sarah on Sunday.
Artists Reframing the Prophetic : a weekend residential led by Christine Westhoff (24-7 Prayer) and Abbie Troyanek, to explore how the Holy Spirit works through creativity to reveal God's prophetic voice. The weekend runs from the 3rd to the 5th of October and is facilitated by (friend of The Bear) Martin Young and you can read more about it here.
Art journaling as worship : in this one day workshop Jenna Burne will show participants how mixed-media journaling can be used as a form of prayer, praise and prophetic expression. The next one is on the 18th of September, find out more here.
Donations for a family in Gaza : Larry is asking if anyone is able to give to help relocate a family based in Northern Gaza to the south. The violence has intensified to the point that they have decided to evacuate their home. Amjad, his daughter and his parents have all been injured or have medical conditions so travel is difficult on foot and so they need to make assisted travel arrangements. If you can donate, please do so here.
