IN OUR COMMUNITY

SABBATH PRAYER
From Phillippe

Dear Creator,

You rested and saw that all you had made was good. Teach us that same kind of rest - the rest that pauses long enough to notice what already is, and to say from the heart, it is enough...and I am thankful for it.

Yes we confess how hard that is. In this restless world of constant motion - where messages, alerts, notifications, demands and to-do lists never stop - our rest so easily gets tied to screens, to noise, and to what's next. Our minds run ahead, and what's next crouches at the door. We find it difficult to stop, to breathe, to let you be enough.

So, in this Sabbath space, we thank you for the things we hold before you today - for light and creation, rest and presence, celebration, remembering, community, and all that is special.

Through these simple, physical things, help us to pause and connect with you - to see your grace in what we can touch and hold, and to sense your Spirit breathing through all that is ordinary.

Remind us that Sabbath is not a luxury but your gift - a Sabbath made to serve us.

Teach us that gratitude is the doorway to rest: that when we give thanks, we stop striving, chasing, comparing, fixing, and begin to dwell - simply dwell - in your goodness.

And as we rest in you, we remember those who cannot rest today - those carrying grief or illness, those whose minds are troubled, those living in fear or loneliness, and those whose nations know only conflict.

Let your Sabbath peace reach them, Lord: bring stillness where there is turmoil, healing where there is hurt, and hope where life feels fragile.

As we turn now to your Word, quiet our hearts, open our ears, and draw us into that deep, restoring stillness where we remember who we are - are whose we are.

Amen.

Also, coming up, we have the Winter Market. Spread far and wide!
