‘How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!’
Psalm 133
Sunday Morning - our worship service this week will be live and direct from The Bear building. We will be taking a cautious and inclusive approach as we navigate our way through the ongoing pandemic. Doors at 10.15am.
The service will be shown on Zoom for those unable to be in the building If family, friends and neighbours want to tune in, please ask them to contact in advance (on 07707 524977) for ID and Password. We can then explain the protocol, send them the codes and welcome them properly.
Youth Alpha - in the park - bring money for drinks (bex@thebear.tv)
Walk to Wales - Ezra and Keir are due to finish their Incredible Journey for The Ragged Project on Monday. They have enjoyed the company of strangers, battled with blisters and raised well over £2,000 so far. Support them here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/raggedwalk2wales
The Bear Book Club - Thursday 29 July at 8pm - this month’s book is ‘God Is Not A White Man’ and Chine will be taking questions and hearing reflections during the evening. Please contact bex@thebear.tv for details.
Supper Club - Friday 30 July - five course meal at The Bear with 20% of profits going to The Ragged Project. Just a couple of places left, so contact josh.carpenter@live.com to enquire.
Thanks - for praying for the Leadership Team’s Awayday. It was such a good time. The feedback is on the way…
Fruit and Veg - the well is running dry, so we will continue by supporting just one Social Supermarket instead of two. Both have been so ‘grateful and surprised’ by the generosity of the giving, and the commitment to sending fresh healthy food rather than leftover tins! (not that leftover tins aren’t welcome too!) We’ll continue with this commitment for as long as we can.
Here Comes Summer - there’ll be picnics in the park from 1pm on Sunday 1st (Hilly Fields, SE4) 8th (Greenwich Park, SE10) and 15th (Blythe Hill, SE6) August. Turn up with your lunch and hang out with The Bear family for the first time in quite a while.
The Ragged Big Box Build - Monday 16 August from 10am-2pm - HELP AND BOXES NEEDED – Bear Cubs and DRSA have permission to use Douglas Way for an extravaganza of box building like nothing ever seen in Deptford before. This is part of a national initiative to provide play opportunities for children https://www.summerofplay.co.uk Contact emily@thebear.tv if you can help on the day and/or bring cardboard boxes to The Bear between now and then.
