‘…and God saw that it was very good.’
Genesis 1:31
The Big Weekend - starts TOMORROW with the Gig in the Garden. Bring a picnic, a chair and some money to The Church of The Good Shepherd, SE12. This is a fundraiser - there’ll be cakes, drinks and raffle tickets to buy as well as donations on the door. On Sunday we are back in The Bear for our Morning Service followed by The Big Lunch in Giffin Square. This is a ‘bring and share’ barbecue lunch. The roads won’t be closed and parents need to supervise children at all times. Deptford Lounge will be open for toilets. We recommend that all take a lateral flow ahead of the events, don’t come if you have any symptoms of Covid, wear a mask if you would like to, and keep a distance if you feel more comfortable doing so.
Sunday Morning - our worship service this week will be live and direct from The Bear building and will be followed by The Big Lunch. All hands needed on deck as we open our doors and share the overwhelming, never ending, reckless love of God in Giffin Square. Bring food to barbecue. There will not be a Zoom connection for this service.
The Evening Service - is back! After 18 months, we are throwing open the doors once more, starting Sunday 12 September. Come and prep, cook, serve, wash up, pray, sing – be church together with those in Deptford who need a meal and company. Contact Richard B to join in.
Early Morning Prayer - all welcome to pray from 7-7.30am Monday to Friday

Other Notices
Hope at Home are an organisation that match survivors of modern slavery with host families in the community to provide temporary bedspaces. In most cases the survivors are accessing outreach support so the only requirement on the host is providing a welcoming environment. They receive a large number of referrals from organisations in London but don’t have the number of hosts to match the demand. If you want to know more, there will be a welcome session on 20th September (link here)
