Joint service with Ascension & garden party : we will be co-hosting a service with Ascension on July 19th at 10:30am and have been invited to a garden party following the service in the Vicarage across the road at 12noon. Please come along and bring something to share with our Ascension extended family.

Next Green Group meeting : if you have been considering joining the Green Group, or would like to find out more, now's the time! The next meeting if on the 9th July so if you would like to enquire about what they're up to or how to join, speak to Sarah or Tim.

IN OUR COMMUNITY

Hugh, Jonah & Lucas cycling fundraiser : Hugh, Jonah & Lucas are doing the Big Brighton Bike Ride THIS SUNDAY to raise money for The Ragged Project. Check out their fundraising page here and share and donate if you can.

Fridges available : We've got one fridge freezer, a chest freezer and a tall standing freezer at The Bear if anyone needs them. Speak to Bex or reply to this email for more info.

Instagram is back! : We have set up a new Instagram page following a hack last year, please follow @thebearchurchdeptford and unfollow @thebearchurch. We have put all of our old posts onto this new Instagram so the posts you receive on your timeline might be from previous years, please give these a like but don't take the information as up to date! We should get back to regular posting over the coming weeks.

Building project - the final push? : By the grace of God we have come so far with the building project and raised an incredible amount of money together. But we still need a little more to get us over the line. We are trying a new strategy to get us there and we need your help! If you could fill in this form, we will use this information to hopefully open up some new fundraising avenues. More information is in the link but do get in touch with Bex if you have any further questions.

Lift Train for Lily : If you are available during the day on Wednesdays and you drive a car that isn't too difficult for someone on crutches to get into, please do get in touch with Lily as she is in need of a lift to Lewisham Hospital from Brockley following her accident.

CLASSIFIEDS

Challenge Amazon : This Fair Tax Week, Just Money Movement are inviting you to take a deeper dive into their new campaign to Challenge Amazon: Break the Habit, Fix the Rules. Join them for a 1 hour zoom over your lunch break on Thursday 25th June, 12:30pm. You find out more, ask questions, and discover how you can encourage your church and wider community to get involved.

David Pott's Walks4Life Pilgrimage : to celebrate the milestone of his 80th birthday, David Pott (Emily Adlington's Dad who some of you will know) walked 138 miles of the North Wales Pilgrim's Way to raise funds for Walks4Life. He completed the walk one day early but you can still support his pilgrimage here. If you would like to know more about Walks4Life, check out this interview with David by Guild of Health and St Raphael.

Embodied Peace - The Somatics of Grief : Are you finding that the communities where you gather are carrying an increased sense of grief at the moment? St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace want to equip people with facilitation skills to cultivate qualities essential to reconciliation and peacebuilding: compassion, listening, resilience, and the ability to remain human in the face of difference and change. On 26th June 9:30am-4:30pm, Tanya Forgan, mindfulness mentor and embodiment therapist, is offering a beautiful and very practical training on how we hold and care for people in grief and how to move a community of people through it together.
